Welcome to PEASD, Joey Lutze!

We are thrilled to welcome Joey to the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District family as our new Business Ed Teacher/Community Ed!

Why PEASD: “Growing up and graduating from PEASD, I couldn't have been more excited to accept a position that will allow me to give back to the community that I grew up in. I am most excited to continue building and growing connections with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.”

Favorite Part of Teaching/Leading: “My favorite part of teaching is making a genuine difference in students' lives. I had a variety of different teachers at PEASD that truly shaped me into who I am today, and now having the opportunity to do the same to the next generation of graduates which is extremely motivational. In addition, graduating from college with a degree in finance paired with having held a handful of different positions in the business world, I can confidently say there isn't another career that gives me the same passion and pride as teaching.”

Outside of School: “When I’m not at school, you can usually find me coaching football and basketball, spending time with friends/family, or watching Survivor.”

Fun Fact: “A fun fact people might be surprised to learn about me is that I collect Green Bay Packers pins from all of the games I attend. Go Pack Go!”

Please join us in giving Joey a warm PEASD welcome! Drop a comment below to say hello!

Welcome to PEASD, Ciara Meyer!

We are thrilled to welcome Ciara to the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District family as our new 3K Montessori Teacher!

Why PEASD:”Over the last five years, I have had the pleasure of working with children of all ages, from 6 weeks to 12 years old, in both traditional and nature-based settings. I’m excited to join the PEASD and to get to know the students, families, and the tight-knit community that makes this district so special. I am passionate about hands-on, play-based learning. I believe a child’s learning environment should be a space where they can explore and grow through meaningful experiences. I love seeing where children’s curiosity takes them by finding creative ways to turn those interests into opportunities for learning and growth.”

Favorite Part of Teaching/Leading: “What I love most about working with students is watching them grow into confident, curious, and caring individuals. I especially value the social-emotional side of learning. Helping students to recognize and express their feelings, build relationships, solve problems, and develop the confidence and skills they need to navigate the big world around them.”

Outside of School: “When I’m not at school, you can usually find me ziplining through the trees in Lake Geneva or snuggling up at home with my dog, Scout!”

Fun Fact: “One fun fact about me is that I am dual-licensed in both regular and special education and a bit of a “Jane of all trades!” I love learning new things and finding creative ways to use all of my different skills. Whether I’m teaching, creating, or trying something completely new, I’m happiest when I get to wear a few different hats!”

Please join us in giving Ciara a warm PEASD welcome! Drop a comment below to say hello!

Take 2 🎬🌎

Arden Hyatt is headed to South Africa for the IPF Sub-Junior World Championships, representing Team USA for the second time on the biggest stage in the world for her age group.

Last year, Arden made the trip to Worlds in Costa Rica ranked 9th out of 15 lifters. She finished 5th and increased her total by an incredible 30kg (66 lbs).

And she didn’t stop there.

After her senior year season ended taking home first at State in her weight class and best overall lifter, Arden went on to become the 63kg National Champion and Best Female Raw Lifter at High School Nationals in April. She followed that up in May by becoming National Champion at Age Division Nationals and setting a National Deadlift Record.

Now she’s headed back to Worlds — stronger, more experienced, and once again competing in the largest weight class in the Sub-Junior division. This time, she’s right in the mix with the top three and has her sights set on the top spot.

From a small-town high school in Wisconsin to competing against the best lifters in the world, this journey has been pretty incredible to watch. With the non-stop training and giving this sport her all, she has earned every bit of this opportunity.

Take 2. Same stage. Bigger goals. 🇺🇸💜

Welcome to PEASD, Matt Jones!

We are thrilled to welcome Matt to the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District family as our new Middle School ELA/Social Studies Teacher !

Why PEASD: “I am thrilled to be a part of the Palmyra-Eagle community! Having lived near the PEASD for most of my life, I am familiar with the district's rich history and current accomplishments. Previously, I was a middle and high school ELA and social studies teacher for the past 31 years in a small school district. I look forward to experiencing that same type of learning environment and contributing to the “family feeling" at Palmyra-Eagle.”

Favorite Part of Teaching/Leading: “My favorite part of teaching is building lasting relationships with the students, staff and community. It is exciting to watch students grow and reach their potential throughout their school years and beyond. It is energizing to collaborate with staff to create the best learning experiences for all students. And it’s encouraging to feel a part of the community at large.”

Outside of School: “When I’m not at school you can find me spending time with my wife and two adult children. I also like to read, watch and attend sporting events, go to movies, play piano and get lost in a good history documentary.”

Fun Fact: “When I was six months old my family moved to Heidelberg, Germany where we lived for three years while my dad was stationed overseas in the military. Unfortunately, I don’t remember any of our adventures because I was so young, but I enjoy looking at the pictures and hearing the stories!”

Please join us in giving Matt a warm PEASD welcome! Drop a comment below to say hello!

Welcome to PEASD, Emily Kaddatz!

We are thrilled to welcome Emily to the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District family as our new HS Science Teacher!

Why PEASD: “I am a fifth generation educator who grew up in Twin Lakes, WI and attended Wilmot Union High School. Growing up, I joked that I never wanted to be a teacher, but I did want to show up in people's lives. After a couple years in a larger district, I wanted to work closer to home in a district I could see my daughter going to someday. Showing up in students' lives and making connections with families that will show up in my family's life is something I can't wait to be a part of here!”

Favorite Part of Teaching/Leading: “I've been building my career on showing up for kids, not just in the classroom, but at sports practices, in the community, and in the parts of their lives that they value most.”

Outside of School: ” When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me hiking, spending time with my family, or thrifting!”

Fun Fact: “A couple super quick fun fact is that I'm scared of blueberries and disc golf.”

Welcome Emily!
Huge congratulations to Palmyra-Eagle High School senior, Bailey L., for her incredible performance representing Team USA at the 23rd Annual NAPF North American Women’s Classic Regional Powerlifting Championships on August 4!

Bailey earned the opportunity to compete on this international stage after placing first in her weight class at the Powerlifting America High School Nationals in Omaha, Nebraska, earlier this year.

In her first-ever international competition, Bailey went a perfect 9/9 for the first time in her career and brought home four medals in the 57kg weight class:
🥈 Silver Medal: Squat - 110kg (242 lbs), matching her PR 🥉 Bronze Medal: Bench - 57.5kg (127 lbs), matching her PR 🥈 Silver Medal: Deadlift - 135kg (298 lbs), a New PR! 🥉 Bronze Medal: Total Weight - 302.5kg (667 lbs), a New PR Total!

As a multi-sport athlete, Bailey admitted that she often doubted herself in powerlifting, making her appearance on the international platform feel truly "surreal." Her success is a shining example of how "big things can come from a small-town program."

Head Coach Heidi Hyatt and the entire Palmyra-Eagle community are beyond proud to see our students take advantage of these unique opportunities and represent us across the country.

Please join us in celebrating Bailey's hard work and amazing achievement! 🎊🦾

Welcome to PEASD, Yvette Loiselle!
We are thrilled to welcome Yvettte to the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District family as our new HS/MS Agriculture Teacher!

Why PEASD: " I am excited to be joining the Palmyra-Eagle community! I have spent many exciting and rewarding years teaching science and agriculture students in Wisconsin and truly believe the best learning happens when students can roll up their sleeves and connect classroom lessons to the real world. I also worked in the agriculture industry, and grew up working in family businesses, which gave me valuable real-world experiences that I love sharing with students. I am passionate about agricultural education, FFA, leadership development, farmland conservation, and helping students discover the many career opportunities available in agriculture.”

Favorite Part of Teaching/Leading: “My favorite part of teaching is building relationships with students and helping them recognize their own potential. I love watching students gain confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover talents they never knew they had. Whether they're in the classroom, greenhouse, the field, volunteering, the shop, or competing through FFA, I want every student to know they belong and can be successful.”

Outside of School: "When I'm not at school, you'll usually find me spending time on my hobby farm with my horses, dogs, chickens, and cats, working outdoors, crafting or sewing, riding my motorcycle, or tackling my next home or farm project. I also enjoy exploring Wisconsin's natural areas and have always had a passion for soils, lakes and rivers, the environment and wildlife.”

Fun Fact: “One thing people might be surprised to learn about me is that I'm just as excited to learn as I am to teach! I've taught everything from biology and earth science to veterinary science and forestry field studies, but there's always something new to learn and I am looking forward to all of the fun classes and new experiences this new year brings! I love finding new ways to make learning meaningful, hands-on, and fun. I believe some of the best lessons happen outside the classroom and that every student has unique strengths waiting to be discovered. Let's do this!
