The Scholarship listing below is updated as new information is provided and becomes available, please check back often. Each scholarship has a variety of criteria, requirements and deadlines that students must meet to qualify. Please read through all the information carefully.
LOCAL AND AREA SCHOLARSHIPS - Information becomes available to our senior students mid-January and are awarded to students at the Senior Awards Banquet in May. Please check back in the middle of January.
STATE/NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS - Scholarship postings are updated as opportunities become available. Students are encouraged to check for new resources every few weeks. Be sure to also check college websites and your local resources such as places of employment, church or volunteer organizations
OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS/ESSAY CONTESTS OPEN TO 9th-12th GRADE STUDENTS - Occasionally, scholarships and essay's open up to all high school students, not just graduating seniors. These will be updated as they become available.

An easy way to get scholarship money to go directly towards your college tuition! Just add in activities you've participated in and grades for the classes you have taken. And the earning doesn't stop in high school. You can continue to earn while in college each year as well!

Whether you are attending a two or four year college, a specialty school, an apprenticeship program, or the military, searching for money for post high school schooling should be done annually. Click on the individual type name for more information.
- Grants - This is money that comes from the federal government, state government, your institution, or a private organization, which are given to those based on needs of the student (e.g., lower income students). Grants do not need to be paid back.
- Scholarships - Come from your school or a private source, which are usually given to students based on needs or merit (i.e., academic achievement, athletic performance, etc.). Scholarships do not have to be paid back. Never pay for a scholarship.
- **NEVER PAY A FEE TO APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP**
- Scholarship postings are updated frequently and are posted in the counseling office as opportunities become available. Be sure to also check college websites and your local resources such as your place of employment, church or volunteer organizations. Students are encouraged to check for new resources every couple weeks. Note: Scholarship information posted below is not guaranteed. Check individual websites listed in "Other Information" for actual deadlines, requirements and awards.
- Scholarship Search/Resources - A guide to review the best scholarship search platforms and instruct students on how to use them effectively to find as many opportunities as possible.
- Federal Student Loans - Funded by the federal government to help pay for your education. A federal student loan is borrowed money that you must repay with interest.
- PLUS Loan - Available to parents of dependent, undergraduate students for which the borrower is fully responsible for paying the interest regardless of the loan status.
- Private Loans - Funding for students is given by banks, credit unions, and other various types of lenders, which is borrowed money that must be repaid with interest.
- Work Study - A federal student aid program that provides part-time employment while you are enrolled in school to help pay your education expenses.
- Federal Student Aid (FASFA)- Aid from the federal government to help you pay for education expenses at an eligible college or career school. Grants, loans and work-study are types of federal student aid and is obtained by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- College Goal Wisconsin is a statewide event that provides free information and assistance to families who are filling out the FAFSA, the federally required form for students seeking financial aid, such as grants and loans. Completing the FAFSA is the first and most important step in qualifying for aid. In addition to submitting the FAFSA on time and error-free during College Goal Wisconsin, participating students are entered into a drawing for a scholarship.
- LendEDU - a personal finance information site designed to help students and graduates make the best decisions when it comes to their financial options regarding student loan repayment after graduation.

Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Programs
Bucky’s Tuition Promise PLUS - The program is designed to assist Badgers from low-income households pay for college through a combination of grants, scholarships and work-study. It includes a commitment to meeting full financial need for incoming freshmen for four consecutive years and transfer students for two consecutive years. For those college bound seniors, with great financial need, interested in UW-Madison. This is a great opportunity, but you must complete FAFSA.
Wisconsin Tuition Promise - University of Wisconsin System President Jay Rothman announced the creation of the Wisconsin Tuition Promise, a new initiative starting in fall 2023 to ensure underserved Wisconsin students can attend any UW System university without paying tuition or fees. The goal of the program is to increase the number of state residents who graduate with a bachelor’s degree—especially first-generation students and those from low-to-moderate income families throughout Wisconsin—thereby improving individual lives and communities and helping meet the state’s workforce needs.
Students do not apply for the Wisconsin Tuition Promise. It is automatically awarded to eligible students who have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The financial aid office will notify eligible students. Check with the University of Wisconsin campus you plan to attend to see what their deadline for FAFSA completion is.
Talent Incentive Program (TIP) - The TIP grant aids low-income disadvantaged Wisconsin students will additional college funding to help reduce the student's amount of loans, work-study or unmet needs. Funding is very limited and allocated on a first come, first serve basis. The application and directives can be found in the link above.
GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) - GEAR UP is designed to assist low income students succeed in secondary school so that they will graduate from high school and pursue higher education. Foremost Media is excited to support a student in their quest to better their lives through higher education with the launch of our Annual Foremost Media $500 Scholarship Award. This scholarship will be awarded each on July 1st to one dedicated student who is pursuing or intending to pursue an undergraduate degree in Marketing or Web Development.
- Open to any high school senior planning on attending an accredited university, technical college, or trade school or already attending and accredited university, techor trade school
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Please include one letter of reference from a teacher or employer.

Provide a short paragraph 250-500 words (3000 character max) on who you are and why you want to work in the industry or what interests you most about online marketing or website design. Our $500 scholarship offer will be awarded to the applicant who best describes their interest in web marketing and/or programming. |

Two BCI Burke Community Scholarships are available:
- One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a Moraine Park Technical College (WI) or Fox Valley Technical College (WI) student enrolled in the following programs: Interactive Media Design, Mechanical Design Technology, Mechanical CAD Drafting, Digital Media or Welding.
- One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, graphic design or business.

Requirements: |
The Wisconsin Towns Association, Rural Mutual Insurance Company, and Scott Construction, Inc. will be awarding $7,000 in scholarships to high school graduating seniors that plan to enroll in a Wisconsin public or private college or university in fall of 2024. The winners are determined by independent judging of an essay contest.
Entrants must prepare an essay addressing the 2024 WTAS Scholarship program topic: "What strategies can be implemented by town officials in collaboration with citizens to maintain civility in local government?"
Must be typed and be between 500 - 1,000 words and double spaced. Essays must include a bibliographic listing of sources used.
Applicants must be a 2024 graduate and plan to attend a Wisconsin public or private college or University in Fall 2024.

The ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship is sponsored by ISL Education Lending, a national nonprofit organization committed to helping students attending college obtain the resources needed to succeed. This scholarship awards ten $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors residing in Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota or Wisconsin. Recipients are randomly drawn from among all eligible entries.
The ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship is open to high school seniors, and parents of students, who are:
- Legal U.S. residents.
- Residents of Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota or Wisconsin.
- Planning to attend, physically or virtually, an eligible college the fall following the registration dates.
There are no financial need, minimum grade point average or class rank requirements for the ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship. |

The Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship is dedicated to Sherise Rosser, a wonderful woman who taught her daughter the power of authenticity, belief, and compassion.
The hope is that the scholarship inspires greater awareness about mental health and fuels innovative solutions that help the millions of people who are suffering.
"When we bring the darkness to light, it will slowly fade."
The scholarship is open to students at any educational level and field of study. The only application requirement is that students have personally experienced challenges with mental health or have had people close to them who have experienced mental health challenges.
Students applying to the scholarship will be required to write an essay about how their experience with mental health has influenced their beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations. While not required, working or volunteering at organizations that increase mental health awareness, provide mental health support, or research mental health solutions will be a plus on student applications. |
