Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Beth Hemmer and I am the Elementary School Counselor in the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District. This is my first year with the district, and I am excited to be part of this caring and supportive school district and community.
Before coming to Palmyra-Eagle, I was the Elementary School Counselor in the Franklin Public School District for 22 years. I have a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, both from UW-Milwaukee. In my free time I love to spend time with my husband, our two teenage kids, who keep us very busy, and our dog. I enjoy camping, reading, exercising, the Brewers and Packers, and spending time with family and friends.
As the School Counselor, my main responsibility is to promote the personal, academic and social development of all students. In order to do this, I will be meeting with students individually and in small groups, as well as teaching weekly development guidance lessons in classrooms. In order to meet the needs of all students I will be collaborating with teachers and staff at both Palmyra Elementary and Eagle Elementary Schools. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in small group or individual counseling, please contact the school in writing.
I encourage you to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child. I am here to support the students and help them achieve their personal, social and academic goals.
Furthermore, I am available to support you and teachers as needed. If you would like for me to meet with your child individually, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am thrilled to be here in the Palmyra-Eagle Area School District and look forward to getting to know you and your child!
I am excited to be here at the P-EASD and cannot wait to see what this year has in store for your child(ren).
Sincerely,
Beth Hemmer
School Counselor
