Technology at Eagle Elementary
Eagle Elementary is proud of the many technological tools available to students. Each classroom at Eagle Elementary is outfitted with a SMART Board and projector. Document cameras used to project images onto the screens are also found in all classrooms. There is also a 30-station computer lab adjacently located to the library. Every classroom in the school has the opportunity to utilize the lab for thirty scheduled minutes on a weekly basis. Accomodations are easily made for classes wishing to gain extra access to work on projects and other technology related skills.
Wireless devices such as ChromeBooks and iPads are found in all classrooms. Currently, each class at Eagle Elementary has a 1:2 ratio of personal hand-held devices, meaning there is one device per two students. Additional Chromebooks can be checked out of the library for classes wishing to have a 1:1 ratio.
Eagle Elementary is extremely fortunate to house a state of the art Makerspace room equipped with: a 3D printer, Lego Robotics, Osmo, Lego wall, sewing machines and much more. The Makerspace allows students to become engrossed in STEAM learning. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. Each classroom at Eagle Elementary is able to reserve time in the Makerspace for wonderful hands-on learning experiences.
