Who are we?
Palmyra Elementary Home & School Organization is our school's PTA/PTO group.  We are a group of teachers and parents
dedicated to working together to take an active role in our children's school life.

When do we meet?
Home & School meets once a month in the Palmyra Elementary IMC. Our meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at
3:10p.m. (right after school).  As most of your know, or even if you didn't know, we offer free babysitting so that more parents can
participate in Home & School.  A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Ms. Lawler for dedicating her time to care for our children during our
meetings.

What do we do?
Home & School members devote their time and talents to provide family centered activities and organize fundraising to purchase
much needed playground equipment, computers and computer software and to provide each and every teacher in our school much
needed funds to purchase supplies and "accessories" for their classrooms.  The money we raise while fundraising also enables us
to have all-school educational assemblies and for all of the classrooms to go on field trips.

Check out the school calendar to see dates and times for the fun activities for the students and their families throughout the year!

  • Ice Cream Socials
  • Monster Mash
  • Santa's Secret Shop
  • Sledding Party
  • Field Trips
  • Teacher Appreciation Dinners
  • School Visitors & other special events throughout the year!

As too not overwhelm parents, we have one major fundraiser that we do twice per school year and that is?

Cherrydale Farms (Formerly Chip Shoppe)!!!
Cherrydale Farms has taken over the Chip Shoppe company and added Otis Spunkmeyer products to their line -up.  It is our one major fundraiser where we make most of of the money for field trips and "fun money" for the teachers for their classroom.  It's safe to say that without the success of our Cherrydale Farms fundraiser, the free field trips the children participate in would no longer be available; parents would have to pay for their children to go!!  Therefore, we encourage everyone to help out and
surpass the past year's profits every time!  Home & School would like to extend a HUGE thank you to our Cherrydale Farms coordinator
Rebecca Hanshaw, it would not be possible if it wasn't for her help!!

We also have a number of smaller, but nonetheless IMPORTANT, fundraisers that you can participate in throughout the school year
just by going about your everyday life!

Box Tops 4 Education
Coordinator: Melissa Johnson - Palmyra Elementary can earn up to $60,000 each year by participating in the
Box Tops 4 Education program!  PLEASE do your part by participating in one of the following three easy ways:

CLIP
Simply clip the Box Tops from the hundreds of products such as Cheerios, Betty Crocker, Juicy Juice, Ziploc, Kleenex, Hefty, and
more (for a complete list visit www.boxtops4education.com) and either drop them off in the school office or send them to school with
your child and we'll get them to the office for you!  Each Box Top is worth $.10 when Palmyra Elementary redeems them from General
Mills.  It may not sound like much but it definitely adds up quick! Be sure to look for products with "BONUS Box Tops" too!

SHOP THE BOX TOPS MARKETPLACE
Start every online shopping trip at the Box Tops Marketplace (www.boxtops4education.com), where you can shop at over 70 online
stores like Oriental Trading Co., JCPenney, BabyGap and Lands' End.  Up to 10% of each qualifying purchase goes back to your
designated Box Top school - Palmyra Elementary!

SHOP THE BOX TOPS READING ROOM
You can earn cash for our school just by buying the books that you love through the Box Tops Reading Room
(www.boxtops4education.com)!  Earn up to 6% on purchases made at Barnes & Noble!

We Care at Pick 'n Save
The We Care program helps raise additional funds through supportive shoppers, like you, who use their Advantage Plus Savers
Club card.  Each time you use your Advantage Plus Savers Club card, Palmyra Elementary receives a cash rebate.  Stop in at the
Customer Service desk to apply for the Advantage Plus Savers Club card and designate Palmyra Elementary as one of three
organizations to receive the cash rebate from your purchases.  Every time you show your card for in-store discounts, you are helping
our school earn money!  How easy is that?!?!

PES Home & School Subway Night
Our very own Palmyra Subway has joined in to help raise funds for Palmyra Elementary! Each year we have a Subway Night where
a portion of each sale that night is donated to PES! Check the school calendar for date & time and take the family out to dinner!

For more information on our year-round fundraisers, check out the Home & School News bulletin board in the student pick-up area.

Color-a-Thon
Color-a-Thons are not your average fundraiser; they're memory-makers for families and friends.  They build communities through a colorful comaraderie.  Students can earn t-shirts and other fun rewards.  Plus, the school will make money and everyone involved will walk away exhilarated and satisified with a job well done!

How can I be a part of Home & School?
There's even more ways than EVERYTHING above!

  • Volunteer your time - Help out at one (or ALL) of our many activities throughout the year!
  • Make phone calls - Help call volunteers
  • Become a coordinator
  • Organize (or help organize) an event
MOST OF ALL - Come to our meetings!  We would love to see your face! It is so important for all parents to take an active role in
their child's school life and what better way to do that then to come spend an hour or so with us, once a month, and put your two
cents in!

If you should have any questions/comments/concerns, please feel free to contact any of our Home & School Officers.  Together with
your help - we can build a better school for our children!
